Bullying Is a Confidence Game – Whitney Johnson – Harvard Business Review

Bullying Is a Confidence Game – Whitney Johnson – Harvard Business Review.

An interesting article on bullying in the workplace and the thin line between being a bully and being leader (both can have lots of charisma) but the author distinguishes the two by saying:

“[R] ather than doing what a leader does, which is to build on our strengths and compensate for our weakness for a greater purpose, the bully exploits our weaknesses and uses our strength for their own gain.”

She also makes some good points about doing our own analysis of why we can be drawn in to work for bullies and how they may try to set limits for us that don’t actually exist.
